Submarine Process and Resources

Guided by Earth System Science and the goal of “deep-sea entry, deep Sea exploration and deep sea exploitation”, Submarine Process and Resources Department focuses on researches in sedimentary dynamics process, ocean floor dynamics process and their resources effects, including submarine sedimentary mineral resources and oil-gas-hydrate distribution and advanced research in its genetic mechanism. It also emphasizes the innovation on basic theory in submarine science through technical measures such as submarine big data exploration high performance computing and ocean floor dynamics simulation. Targeted for submarine exploration and Internet of Things development, this department aims to create a new generation of intelligent technology and equipment for submarine exploration and submarine environment guarantee so as to make a safeguard for submarine resources exploration in China’s sea areas and beyond as well as for exploration for oil, gas, hydrate, metal mineral.
